YCN was established in 2016 by a group of minority STEM professionalswho live in Richmond, California , as a fiscal project of the West Contra Costa Public Education Fund.
Prior to starting YCN, members of YCN mentored and tutored peers in college who were also underserved and disadvantaged. The work with college level students helped us see the students’ academic challenges were a result of poor and inadequate preparation at an early age. With this experience, along with being minorities in the STEM field, we were determined to make a difference. As a result, YCN was created.
One of the most distinctive characteristics of our courses is that it covers one subject area
in detail before proceeding to another subject area.
This method helps ensure students to acquire the necessary and pre-required knoweledge in advance for the subject
matter that they are going to learn in the coming days. We offer a variety of courses in Computer Science and Mathematics.
